The nearest this years Tour de France got to England was Boulogne, perfect for a day trip. We left Dover early arriving in Calais just as the sun (and wind) came out. Then it was a hilly 30mile ride down to the stage finish in the old Citadel in Boulogne. A great day out was had by all.
