Sam Culverwell (Team Estera) wins Road Race

Congratulations to Sam Culverwell from Team Estera who took todays Bec Road Race win. There's no doubt that this years race was one of the hardest in years. After many fast laps of the Ladies Mile, eventually a large group broke away from the front of the race, turning onto the second course about 2 minutes ahead. The gap slowly opened but on the second ascent of Mardens Hill this large group split leaving riders in multiple small groups all fighting for places.

For a couple of laps six riders fought it out at the front, until Sam Culverwell and Edmund Bradbury (Memil CCN Pro Cycling) got the better of the others, on the last lap. These two riders did there best to split, but in the end Culverwell turned out to be the strongest at the finish crossing two seconds ahead of Bradbury.

The top 11 riders came in individually or in small groups before a 5+ minute gap back to two other groups, which were the main bunch.

The Bec would like to congratulate all the riders, on what was a very fast and gruelling race today.
