Club Luncheon - David Millar guest speaker
22nd November 2012
Sunday 18th saw the club gathered at the Chateau in Croydon for the traditional end of season luncheon. This year we were proud to be joined by David Millar (Garmin) as our guest speaker. David is currently living in Girona, and flew over on the morning on the luncheon especially to join us. Other guests included former guest speakers; Ned Boulting, Tony Gibbs and Robin Johnson. With Andrew Croker also in attendance there was a lot of cross toasting and speeches to keep the club entertained.
Open road race winner Allan Ridler (Pedal Heaven RT) and Open 25 TT winner Iain Brogden (Eastbourne Rovers) were also there to collect their trophies.
Most of the club trophies went to Dom Hill who had another fantastic year. The Bletchingly Trophy was won by James Hughes, and Shaun Kennedy picked up his fair share of trophies as well.
The two trophies voted for by the committee are only announced on the day. Keith Butler won the trophy for services to the club for his commitment to the Sunday club runs, and Garry Beckett picked up the club sporting trophy for his entertaining (if not fast) ride in the hill climb.
