2019 Bec Hill Climb Results
14th October 2019
The rain finally stopped in time for the 64th Bec Open Hill Climb which saw Calum Brown (B38/Cycles In Motion) take the overall win from Craig Rogers (Cambridge University CC) in second and 2016 junior champion Harvey Weinberger in third.
Kate Palmer (Brixton Cycles Club) took the women's title from Louise Moriarty (Les Filles Racing Team) second and Haddi Conant (Datalynx-Parensis Cycling) in third spot.
The juvenile race saw a VC de Londres one-two of Finlay Hawker and Anthony Morris, with Cormac Nesbit (High Wycombe CC) in third place.
The junior title was taken by Theo Tadros (Trainsharp) from Will Lowden (Boxford Bike Club) and Arthur Boulton (Vision Innovative Leisure Racing Team).
Bill Bell (Bigfoot CC) returned to his winning ways on White Lane by taking the vets title from Richard Cartland (South Downs Bikes) and Jon Hughes VC Godalming & Haslemere).
Calum Brown lead team mates Hamish McDougall and Rick Bailey to take the coveted team title.
As ever, the race created a great atmosphere in the middle of the Surrey Hills and we were also delighted to showcase some local enterprises this year with Tatsfield FairTrade Village providing free bananas and Titsey Brewing Company providing locally brewed beer; both of which went down very well with riders and spectators alike.
We look forward to doing it all again in 2020.
