Subscribed for by members of the Bec Cycling Club
to perpetuate the memory of CH Meaker Esq,
Founder of the Club, and President 1946-1953.

Presented by Mr & Mrs RG Beckett-awarded annually
to the rider recording the fastest time in the
Bec Cycling Club Open Hill Climb - begun in 1954 -
held on White Lane, Surrey.
Record 1.43.02 set in 2007 by Dan Fleeman

(Note Germain is still only 16!)

Awarded annually to the fastest club team
of three riders in the Open Hill Climb

Awarded annually to the Club Member
recording the fastest time in the
Club Hill Climb (now incorporated in the Open Hil Climb event)

6. (27). The Bill Prothero Memorial Road Race Trophy
Awarded to the winner of the Open Road Race.
Donated by family, friends and clubmates to perpetuate
the memory of W. Prothero, QV "a first-rate clubmate and friend"

7. (11) The Bec Cycling Club Silver Jubilee Veterans Trophy
Obtained by Public Subscriptions to Commemorate the
Bec Cycling Club's 25th year (in 1949).
Awarded to the rider recording the fastest time in the
Bec Cycling Club's Open Veteran's 25 mile time trial.
Since 1950 awarded to the rider recording the fastest time
on VTTA, Standard Time.
Champion: John Woodburn (VC Meudon) +24.07 (regains trophy!)
8. (30) The Wilf Smart Cup
Awarded annually to the rider recording the fastest time in the
Open 10 Mile Time Trial.
Record (and course record) 19.04, set in 2002, by Michael Hutchinson

9. (25) The Geoff Sherwood Memorial Trophy
Presented to the club member recording fastest time on VTTA Standard
in any club, open or association 25mile event in which
Veterans form a declared % of entry.
Record +16.55 1999 held by Jim Pentecost

10. (31) The Aubrey Wenman Memorial Award
In memory of Aubrey Wenman, a very prominent national
veterans' time trial record holder, who raced into his 82nd year.
Awarded to the club veteran recording the fastest time
on age standard in the annual anniversary 10mile time trial

11. (29) The Club Members' Memorial Award
Donated by club members in memory of current clubmates who
pass away, their names being engraved on the trophy
Awarded to the club member, not winning
any other award in the year, who records the fastest time
in the anniversary 10mile time trial.

12. (22) The Brian Wray Open 25mile Cup
Donated by club members and friends of Brian Wray,
who died after an accident
in the Croydon Hardriders 25 on19/2/63
Awarded to the fastest rider on scratch in the
Open 25mile Time Trial

Presented to the Bec Cycling Club by CF Stubbins Esq.
Awarded annually to the club member recording the fastest time
in the club 100mile event

Presented to the Bec Cycling Club in 1949 by Mrs ER Pinches
Awarded annually to the club member recording the fastest time
in any club, open, association or invitation 100mile event

18. (8) The Winitfillit Trophy
Presented in 1958 by AR (Alan) Radford - a former SCCU BAR Champion
of that era, now residing in Melbourne, Australia
Awarded annually to the club member attaining the highest mileage
in the club 12hour time trial - incorporated into a CTT open event.

Presented to the Bec Cycling Club in 1966 by Mr & Mrs GK Bentley
(Keith Bentley was a 1950s National Competition Record Holder )
Awarded annually to the club member who attains the highest
average speed at 25, 50 and 100 miles in any club. open, association
or invitation time trials
(Record 27.878mph set in 2009 by Keith Coffey -not far short of national record)
Champion: Dominic Hill 26.298 mph. (54.43 for 25miles; 1.53.31 for 50miles; 3.59.43 for 100miles)
24. (28) The Bill Prothero Memorial Handicap Trophy
Donated by family, friends and clubmates in memory of Bill,
a true friend and sportsman.
Awarded annually to the club member who attains the highest
number of points on handicap in club events.

Awarded annually to the club member who attains the highest
