The Bec are homeless!
Yes that’s right! The Bec have been given their marching orders from their clubroom of the last 70 years - The Wiseton Rd., Church Institute in Wandsworth.
The doors finally close on the 18th December 2009 and we understand that the site is due to be re-developed in some shape or form, and will no longer be available to hire.
There are mixed feelings about the loss amongst the current members – some of whom have been with the Bec since the early 1950’s and have many fond memories of the clubroom in its heydays.
But times have moved-on and with the advent of e-mail and our club website, one school of thought is that we no longer need a permanent base and could hire venues as and when the need arises. Let us know if you think otherwise??
While we're working out exactly where to go, we'll be using a Croydon based club for comittee meeting and get togethers.
